Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in our manufacturing capabilities and design engineering services. This role will focus on expanding our market presence, building strategic partnerships, and promoting our comprehensive engineering solutions. The position requires frequent travel and on-the-road client meetings to generate new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the defence and security sectors, focusing on manufacturing and design engineering services.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including military contractors, OEMs, and other stakeholders. Conduct weekly on-the-road client meetings to understand their needs and present our solutions.
- Strategic Partnerships: Forge strategic alliances to enhance our service offerings and market reach.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market growth.
- Product Promotion: Highlight manufacturing capabilities, including armoured steel processing, cold forming, and fabrication services.
- Project Management: Oversee client projects from initial contact through to delivery, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in business development, preferably in the defence or steel fabrication sectors.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design engineering services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of military standards and procurement processes is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently and be on the road for client meetings and business development activities.
