In a nutshell

To lead the optimization of retail space across the GCC region, enhancing space utilization and profitability in alignment with strategic goals. The role involves managing partnerships, driving the adoption of innovative solutions, and building a robust commercial framework for space optimization initiatives. As a key player, you will ensure the alignment of optimization efforts with business objectives while continuously improving operational metrics and customer experience.

What I need to do

  1. Build, own, and refine the commercial framework for space optimization across the GCC region to drive profitability and operational success.
  2. Define and track KPIs to measure space optimization effectiveness, ROI, and customer impact.
  3. Partner with external space optimization vendors to ensure alignment with commercial objectives and successful implementation of solutions.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, buying, retail operations) to identify opportunities and develop strategies for space utilization.
  5. Lead the implementation of space optimization initiatives across group brands and regions, ensuring alignment with commercial goals.
  6. Analyze data to monitor the impact of space strategies and refine approaches based on insights.
  7. Manage budgets effectively, ensuring that optimization projects deliver high ROI while remaining within allocated resources.
  8. Stay at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies to identify innovative opportunities for improvement.
  9. Ensure collaboration and effective communication across all relevant business areas, including central and retail teams.

What I need to know

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  2. Strong knowledge of retail markets, analytics, and space planning methodologies.
  3. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and partnerships with external vendors.
  4. Proficiency in using analytical tools and data-driven approaches to inform decision-making.
  5. Solid understanding of retail KPIs and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and lead diverse teams.
