The Support Engineer will support and maintain custom applications, taking full ownership of customer-reported issues through to resolution. The role involves proactive system maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams to ensure high service quality.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day application and system support
Analyse, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues
Take ownership of incidents and see them through to resolution
Perform preventative and routine system maintenance
Monitor systems and processes and identify gaps in monitoring
Escalate unresolved issues according to defined procedures
Maintain accurate incident records, reports, and knowledge base updates
Participate in standby/on-call support and production deployments
Assist with deployments of new services and system enhancements
Support root cause analysis and continuous service improvement
Mentor and assist junior support engineers
Required Skills & Experience
Experience using PL/SQL to retrieve data from Oracle databases
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
Knowledge of system monitoring and alerting processes
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
