Job summary
A specialist IT Talent Solutions company is seeking a Senior Front-end Developer with strong React and Next.js experience for a remote role in South Africa. This contract position focuses on creating accessible, high-performing web experiences and requires proven skills in JavaScript, HTML, Tailwind CSS, and relevant front-end tooling. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to collaborate in a client-facing IT environment and write clean, testable code. Immediate start is available.
Qualifications
- Proven React and Next.js experience.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, including DOM and object model.
- Experience with accessibility best practices.

Skills
Role: Senior front-end developer (React, Next.js)
Location: Remote (South Africa-based only)

This role suits an experienced consultant with strong modern JavaScript capability, deep React and Next.js experience, and a focus on building accessible, high-performing web experiences. You will work remotely within a client-facing IT services environment, collaborating closely with engineering and delivery teams.
- Build and maintain features in React and Next.js>
- Develop responsive UI using HTML, accessibility, and Tailwind CSS
- Integrate with APIs, manage state, and optimise performance
- Write clean, testable code (unit and functional tests)
- Work with NPM, Babel, Webpack and Git workflows, including code reviews
- Strong JavaScript (DOM, object model)
- Proven React and Next.js experience

- Front-end tooling: NPM, Babel, Webpack
- Git version control
- Strong code quality and testing capability
