Strategic Legal Counsel — Engineering & Construction
Job summary
A dynamic organization in engineering and construction is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and lead the legal governance functions. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and fostering a collaborative culture. Ideal candidates will have an LLB degree, at least 7-10 years of legal counsel experience, and familiarity with engineering contracts. This full-time position offers a chance to drive innovation in a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- Admitted attorney or advocate or corporate lawyer with experience in a reputable legal practice.
- 7-10 years of experience as a practicing attorney or in-house legal counsel.
- Experience with engineering and construction contracts such as FIDIC, JBCC, and PROCSA.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop legal governance and business support strategy.
- Provide pragmatic legal advice across various disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with statutory legal and policy requirements.
- Draft, revise, and negotiate contracts.
- Advise senior management on legal issues and risks.
- Oversee compliance with data protection laws.
- Drive corporate governance functions.
