Job summary
A leading shipping and logistics firm in Cape Town is seeking a Depot Operations Assistant to support the Depot Manager. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Shipping and Logistics, with previous management or supervisory roles. Responsibilities include managing depot operations and ensuring compliance with security and contractual agreements.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of Shipping and Logistics Experience.
- Previous management or supervisory experience essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Depot Manager by managing Depot Operations.
- Control and maintain the functionality of handling equipment.
- Supervise security requirements and contractual agreements with clients.
Education
To provide support and assistance to the Depot Manager by ensuring the effective management of Depot Operations including dry and reefer cargo. Assists the Depot Manager to ensure that the Depot, dry and reefer cargo (empty and full), is fully functional and operational. Controls variable expenditure within the depot operations. Ensures serviceability of all handling equipment, empty and full. Maintains and controls security requirements at the depot. Supervise all steri & Controlled Atmosphere (CA) procedures and protocol. Controls and meets the contractual agreements with clients, regulatory authorities / bodies. Ensures effective administration procedures related to Depot operations.
Relevant qualifications will be advantageous. 5-10 years of Shipping and Logistics Experience. Previous management or supervisory experience essential.
