Role – Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital Data Engineer – Associate 3

The Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital Data Engineer (“Data Engineer”) is responsible for extracting data from ERP systems for the South Africa Data Delivery Team (“SA DD”). The Data Engineer should have a good understanding of key ERPs such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, AccPac, Navison, Sage, and other common ERPs used in South Africa, and be able to construct scripts to extract data.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Extract data for the South Africa Assurance business and share it with Data Analysts.
• Understand and work with key ERPs including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, AccPac, Navison, Sage, and others used in South Africa.
• Construct scripts to extract data for digital analytical tools.
• Collaborate closely with the Data Delivery Specialist to extract data.
• Participate in the SA DD Team’s learning and sharing initiatives.
• Stay updated on developments in EY’s digital solutions and market trends to ensure appropriate data extraction.

Other Requirements:

• Travel may be required.

Experience:

• 1 to 2 years of work experience.
• Strong understanding of IT environments, security, networking, and server architecture.
• Experience in data extraction.
• Knowledge of reporting packages (e.g., Business Objects), databases (SQL).
• Experience with one or more ERPs such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, AccPac, Navison, or Sage.
• Experience with SpotFire, PowerBi, Python, and Alteryx is advantageous.
• Proficiency with data tools like Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Server.
• Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize work.
• Experience in external audit or professional services is a plus.
