The accountant will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting and financial administration with completed professional articles toward a recognised accounting qualification (SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA). This role provides structured exposure to core accounting functions, compliance, and financial reporting in a professional environment.

• Full accounting function up to balance sheet (bank and credit card reconciliations, month end journals (i.e. depreciation, prepayments, expense accruals, revenue recognition))
• Maintaining the general ledger of the group companies and analysis of the general ledger to keep records clean and relevant.
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable standards
• Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Assist with fixed asset registers and depreciation calculations
• Processing Intercompany transactions and reconciling monthly (multi-currency & multi-country)

• capture daily bank receipts and payments
• Discrepancy resolution
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

• Process supplier invoices and payments
• Perform supplier and customer reconciliations
• Assist with debtor management, collections and queries
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable

• Support statutory compliance requirements and audits
• Maintain supporting documentation for audits and regulatory reviews

• Complete SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA article requirements in accordance with the relevant professional body
• Participate in training, assessments, and performance reviews as required
• Apply theoretical knowledge to practical workplace scenarios

• Assist senior finance staff with ad hoc accounting tasks and projects
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information

• Completed relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Registered or eligible to register for SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA.

• 0–2 years’ accounting or finance experience (graduate-level experience acceptable)
• Foreign currency and international corporate structure experience is required

• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
