VP of Finance & Operations – Venture Capital | Cape Town | Remote

My client is now looking for their first VP of Finance & Operations — someone to be the operational and financial backbone of the business, and a key driving force as they scale.

You’ll take full ownership of finance and operations, from fund reporting and compliance to running internal processes and supporting data-driven portfolio decisions. This is a senior role with meaningful upside, working directly with the Founder & General Partner to shape how the firm runs and grows.

You’ll be involved in:

• Overseeing the fund model — budgeting, cash flow, and forecasting.
• Managing fund accounting, audits, tax, and compliance.
• Providing liquidity insights and analysis to support portfolio decisions.
• Overseeing entity management and keeping everything running efficiently.
• Managing treasury, banking, FCA compliance, and key stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinating deal execution from end to end.
• Supporting portfolio financial functions and fundraising processes.
• Supporting LP reporting and fundraising strategy for future funds.

• Qualified CA(SA)
• 3+ years in a top-tier accounting firm (Big Four or similar) plus 2+ years in venture capital, private equity, or a high-growth startup environment.
• Strong comfort with audit processes, compliance, and fund administration.
• Excellent judgement and communication skills — able to distil complexity and influence decisions.
