Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a professional qualification like SAIPA or SAICA, along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making. This role involves overseeing daily accounting functions, preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring statutory compliance.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently while supporting management with accurate financial information.
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and external stakeholders
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support management with financial analysis and reporting
- Bachelor’s Degree in , , or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA – advantageous)
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, Xero, or similar)
