- Logistics & Supply Chain Operations : - Manage inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, distribution, and transportation functions.
- Optimize routing, scheduling, and delivery operations to ensure timely fulfilment.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with South African customs and logistics regulations.
- Financial Management & Cost Control : - Develop and manage logistics budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reports.
- Conduct cost analysis to identify inefficiencies, overspending, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost-avoidance strategies through vendor negotiation and process optimization.
- Evaluate logistics contracts and service provider agreements with a focus on ROI and total cost of ownership.
- Performance Management & KPI Tracking : - Define, implement, and track KPIs for logistics operations.
- Analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Present KPI reports to senior management with recommendations.
- Vendor, Carrier & Stakeholder Management- Manage relationships with transporters, warehouses, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and ensure compliance with SLAs.
- Coordinate collaboration with finance, procurement, operations, and sales teams.
- Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Assurance : - Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and labour regulations in South Africa.
- Oversee risk management practices to mitigate transport and supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain quality standards for goods handling, storage, and distribution.
- Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement- Utilize ERP / WMS / TMS systems to optimize operational accuracy.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives within logistics operations.
- Lead continuous improvement programs using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
