Woolworths Financial Services, or WFS as it is better known, is a Joint Venture with Absa Bank, that supports the Woolworths retail business by providing in-store credit in the form of the Woolworths StoreCard and offering value-added services including credit cards, personal loans and short-term insurance as well as life insurance linked to other products.
Job Description
Woolworths Financial Services follows a Work-in-Hybrid work structure which requires employees to work from home for the majority of their time with some rotation into office.
MAIN PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Analyst is to assist with the identification, investigation, documenting, User Acceptance Testing, Project Management and implementation of changes within the assigned department in line WFS platforms within WFS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Delivery: Interface between CRO and business project teams, partners, development teams and IT to ensure optimised project implementations.
- Participate in departmental initiatives to continuously seek improvements in business strategies, policies, systems and procedures.
- Manage integration projects or sub projects and assign responsibilities to project team members.
- Participate in the post-implementation reviews for completed projects.
- Make appropriate recommendations to ensure solutions are optimally implemented.
- Provide subject matter expertise with respect to the technical feasibility of implementing data and credit systems infrastructure-related changes.
Business and Systems Requirement Specifications
- Interpret requirements document and analyse existing system and interfaces for modification / improvement purposes and evaluate the best design for the expected requirement.
- Develop and maintain system requirement specifications, program specifications and test documentation for audit purposes.
- Obtain approval from all related process owners to proceed with changes.
- Monitor the end-to-end execution of changes requested.
Change Management (Software and Systems)
- Maintain a change log/chronology over time.
- Follow appropriate governance processes for implementation approval.
Testing
- Develop test plans for system and integration testing.
- Change system specifications based on testing problems / amended requirements.
- Participate in testing and document any failures or issues identified. Ensure that all issues identified by all the testers are adequately documented, prioritised and scheduled for correction.
Reporting
- Produce and automate regular reporting including executive and management summaries.
Systems Stability and Support
- Ensure the stability of the existing Data and Analytics environment.
- Monitor, support and maintain data and report delivery.
- Support all Data-related matters, including data transfers, DWH, etc.
Stakeholder Management and Specialist Advice
- Manage the creation and hand-over of the system administration procedures.
- Liaise with 3rd Party Vendors as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for data and process optimization within CRO and the broader WFS business.
- Ensure awareness, adherence and compliance to all data and security related policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- 3 years’ minimum experience with testing of Data and Systems.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry.
- 3 years’ experience in supporting and/or managing SQL and/or Credit Decision systems.
- Experience with Cloud tools such as Airflow, Redshift, AWS Glue and so on.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Basic knowledge of TRIAD, Blaze Advisor, VisionPLUS or CAMS.
- Basic knowledge of system infrastructures and architectures.
- Experience in managing third-party relationships is essential.
- Experience in testing the implementation of software strategies.
- Experience of relevant change methodologies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to apply Project management methodology. Both Agile and Waterfall.
- Ability to troubleshoot implementation requirements including problem solving, development, decision-making and analysis of proposed solutions.
- Ability to effectively plan and organise, integrate, innovate and manage multiple implementations.
- Ability to assimilate new information and developments and adapt to later implementations.
- Passionate about data analytics and how this contributes to the business.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate analytical insights and improvement recommendations.
- Pro-active, Self-motivated and milestone driven.
- Ability to package and present ideas and results in a logically ordered, understandable and practical way to both technical and non-technical project stakeholders.
