About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to drive the design, development, and optimisation of our data infrastructure as we scale our analytics and automation capabilities across the organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for building robust data pipelines, shaping our data architecture, and ensuring the business has reliable, high-quality data to support operational, analytical, and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership ability, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about enabling data-driven transformation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and optimisation of data pipelines, workflows, and integrations across multiple systems.
  • Design and implement scalable data architectures to support reporting, analytics, automation, and operational insights.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that improve visibility, efficiency, and performance.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of high-quality engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance the data platform and accelerate delivery.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity across all systems and processes.
Experience and Qualification required:
  • Mathematics/Science/Commerce/IT Degree (NQF Level 7), or equivalent, if substantiated by valid evidence of competency.
  • 3 - 5 years’ relevant data analysis experience in a professional working environment.
