A local artisan bakery in Singapore is hiring for a position to assist the Pastry Chef in daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should have a Certificate in Pastry Skills and possess managerial or supervisory experience in pastry production. Responsibilities include leading junior cooks, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the safe use of kitchen equipment. Job Description
- Assist the Section Head (Pastry Chef) and Production manager in daily running of the Pastry production kitchen
- Assist the Section Head (Pastry Chef) to develop new recipes and keep up with trend
- Leads and motivates junior pastry cook in the preparation of daily pastry products with consistent quality
- Involvement in daily production of pastry products in accordance with specifications from recipes
- Monitor and order ingredients and supplies
- Ensure safe and proper use of equipment at all times
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in and around workstation and strictly abide with health/sanitation regulations
- Any other ad-hoc duties base on operational need
Requirements
- Certificate in Pastry Skills or its equivalent
- Preferably 1 year managerial or 2 years supervisory experience in large quantity production
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- 5 working days per week with the ability to work on weekends/public holidays
