ROLE: JUNIOR PASTRY CHEF

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our GLAZE family. The ideal candidate for this role has basic knowledge and experience in baking, can assemble cakes, and is willing to put the time and effort to learn and meet the demands of the shop.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and bake various pastry components, including sponge cakes, scones, brownies, following standardized recipes.
  • Prepare frostings, ganaches, and glazes to the required consistency and texture.
  • Execute professional cake assembly, including slicing layers, filling, and final decoration and piping work, ensuring every product is visually consistent with the brand’s aesthetic.
Operational Support and Maintenance
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of essential ingredients and alerting the head chef when supplies are low.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the pastry station, adhering to Singapore’s food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and surfaces are properly sanitized before and after use.
Learning and Development
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude in learning new skills to meet the evolving demands and seasonal offerings of the shop.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.

Compensation & Probation
  • Standard Rate: S$14.00 per hour.
  • Probation Period: S$12.00 per hour for the first month (covers initial training and assessment).
Operating Schedule

Phase 1: January – March 2026

  • Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
  • Additional: Occasional Saturdays (to be scheduled and agreed upon in advance).

Phase 2: April 2026 Onwards

  • Days: Monday to Friday (5-day work week).
  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
  • Additional: Occasional Saturdays (to be scheduled and agreed upon in advance).
