Job summary
A clinical laboratory company is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The role involves guiding junior staff, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring quality control of results. Candidates must have a degree in Biomedical Science and 1–3 years of relevant experience, including potential supervisory duties. This position requires rotational shifts.
Qualifications
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent science courses required.
- 1–3 years of experience in Anatomical Pathology (Histology) department.
- Experience in a supervisory role is advantageous.
- Ability to work on rotational shifts is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Guide junior technologists/scientists in clinical laboratory procedures.
- Conduct a variety of clinical laboratory tests.
- Ensure validity and accuracy of test results through quality control.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot testing systems to maintain accuracy standards.
- Perform other related responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department.
Skills
Education
Serve as a point of guidance to junior technologists/scientists for clinical laboratory procedures and test guidelines.
Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests.
Perform quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
Perform calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
Perform job‑related duties as assigned by the Head of Department of Anatomical Pathology.
Key Requirements:
- Degree (Medical Lab Scientist) in Biomedical Science or equivalent science courses.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience working in an Anatomical Pathology (Histology) department.
- Experience in a supervisory position will be an added advantage.
