Projects in Rome and Venice

In Rome, the Orient Express La Minerva hotel will open in 2024 in a historic 17th-century palace, featuring Roman-inspired decor. In Venice, the Orient Express Palazzo Donà Giovannelli offers 45 rooms and suites overlooking canals, renovated to highlight Venetian heritage.

The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership, guidance, and insights to support business decisions. Responsibilities include managing financial analytics, capital projects, operational finance, procurement, budgets, forecasts, and ensuring asset security.

Key tasks include:

1. Creating and supporting the annual operating budget, identifying cost savings.
2. Analyzing ROI for capital projects.
3. Maximizing cash flow through controls on inventory, credit, and disbursements.
4. Participating in rate and sales strategies.
5. Managing and mentoring the finance team.
6. Ensuring compliance with accounting practices and legal regulations.
7. Managing hotel contracts and financial reporting.
8. Implementing financial controls and risk management procedures.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance, with 5-10 years in hotel accounting or audit, including 1-7 years in a supervisory role in Italy. Professional certifications preferred.

• Ability to work accurately under pressure
• Strong analytical skills and financial valuation knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in Italian and English, with good interpersonal and influencing skills
