The role is for a permanent support worker working 30 hours a week, predominately nights. The hours are 19:00 to 07:30. The role involves supporting the nurse in charge to deliver care. Recording care on patients health records. Maintaining the safety of the environment and light cleaning duties. Food preparation.

We are looking for a proactive support worker to work predominately night shifts at Shepherd House, however some day time working may be available. We are an 15 bed inpatient Rehabilitation Ward for adults with complex and enduring mental health diagnoses.

• Support and engage with patients during evening and night shifts.
• Observe patients and keep them safe; maintain the safety of the environment; assist with light cleaning duties and food preparation as required.
• Record care on patients health records.

• A recognised qualification in an area related to the workplace or equivalent technical/life skills
• Evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning
• Health care or relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent skills; Experience of working with people with mental health needs in a paid or voluntary capacity
• Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties
• Experience of being supervised
