In 2019, through the merger of our successful M&A and Real Estate indirect tax teams, we formed the Financial Investors team, which has seen consistent growth in revenue and team size. The team has ambitious plans for further expansion, focusing on a major priority area.

The team operates within the Indirect Tax group, mainly collaborating with Deloitte's Financial Investors Tax team—one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing areas. We advise on all aspects of VAT for financial investor clients, handling high-value private equity and real estate transactions across the UK and Europe, supporting investment firms on VAT matters, and advising private equity-backed businesses across sectors.

• Leading VAT input on Deloitte’s largest transaction support engagements, including buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs, and reorganizations
• Providing comprehensive VAT advice for transactions and portfolio companies
• Advising private capital firms on VAT recovery, fund structures, and compliance
• Supporting recovery of VAT on deal costs through various structures
• Reviewing contracts and advising on UK VAT issues affecting commercial decisions
• Leading day-to-day client engagement teams, balancing transactional and advisory work
• Deepening client relationships and contributing to new business development
• Mentoring Analysts and Consultants
• Contributing to market development initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm
