Due to growth, we are recruiting an Engineering Planner to join our team at Burton, reporting to the Site Engineering Manager.

The role provides a safe, cost-effective, and proactive maintenance planning service to facilitate excellent execution of maintenance activities on factory assets and equipment. It also manages engineering spares and inventory to support asset reliability.

• Work with the Engineering Manager to deliver all elements of the Engineering Plan.
• Ensure all assets meet legal standards and insurance requirements (lifting equipment, pressure systems, LEV).
• Implement an effective Engineering Planning System to maximize resource utilization.
• Produce weekly schedules to ensure maintenance is performed to high standards, supporting asset reliability.
• Coordinate modular overhaul activities and develop plans.
• Schedule a balanced Preventive Maintenance (PM) system to meet KPI targets.
• Measure and report engineering KPI’s weekly.
• Implement the chosen computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Develop asset block diagrams to support CMMS and PPM schedules.
• Create a unit structure for spares management, tracking asset costs and reliability.
• Manage and track engineering spend, invoices, and delivery notes.
• Support the site engineering team in resolving daily engineering issues.
• Support the delivery and communication of site objectives to the engineering team.
• Ensure spares and inventory are properly catalogued and available.
• Manage engineering contractors and activities through Contractor Control Procedures.
• Participate in training and development for self and team.
• Build relationships with site contacts, operators, engineers, suppliers, etc.
• Support Continuous Improvement activities.

• Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications or apprenticeship.
• Experience in a medium/large automated manufacturing environment with relevant safety and quality standards.
• Experience leading engineering teams, managing workloads, and prioritizing tasks (desirable).
• Experience with CMMS systems.
• Spare management system experience (advantage).
• Knowledge of PLCs, servo drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding.
• Experience with continuous improvement/lean techniques (DMAIC) is a plus.
