Overview

Job title: Personal Assistant

Location: Bow Street

Hours of work: 13 hours per week, worked over three afternoons 12:30 to 17:00. To be worked flexibly in line with the needs of the employer.

Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour.

Introduction

An engaging and fulfilling position has become available for a patient and caring personal assistant to support a family with the care of their daughter. The role will predominantly involve three afternoon shifts and may include assistance with daily routines and physiotherapy as described below.

  • Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Assist with physiotherapy and engage in stimulating playtime.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience of childcare with complex health needs, including sensory stimulation and physiotherapy, is desirable.
  • Hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance.
  • This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the individual to manage their support independently.
  • A full driving licence and access to your own transport is beneficial as you may be required to transport them to and from locations.
Additional Information

This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of an individual employer. You will be employed by that individual and not Ceredigion County Council. To apply, please complete the application form.

This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant. If you have an online update DBS you have a better chance of being shortlisted for this position; if you wish to update your DBS please visit the DBS Update Service.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4-week basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement, as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistant Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
