What you'll be doing
- Contributing to the development and improvement of our native shared codebase and toolchain. Our technology produces an SDK and white-label Android apps tailored to client needs.
- Supporting product and technology improvements, refactoring, and testing. Improving automated testing, adapting existing technology, and exploring new app designs and mobile products.
- Contributing to the performance of the Mobile Team. Participate in planning, propose ideas, share knowledge, and help document work.
- Developing autonomous working skills. Manage loosely defined tasks and deepen your domain knowledge.
- Sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Android programming with Kotlin and Java.
- Experience in native Android development.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD (Jenkins).
- Unix/Linux command line skills.
- Willingness to use Kotlin Compose and UX best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with BDD, TDD, and testing for privacy/security.
- Understanding of unit and behavioral testing.
- Professional mindset and self-sufficiency.
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience supporting hybrid mobile tools (Cordova, ReactNative, Flutter).
- Experience with Android behavioral testing and power-efficient background code.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience building libraries, frameworks, APIs.
- Understanding of DI frameworks.
- Experience with microelectronics or Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Additional details:
- Typical hours: 9am – 5.30pm, with occasional flexibility.
- Reports to the Lead Android Engineer.
- Remote work with occasional team gatherings in Sheffield, UK.
- UK residency and right to work required.
- This is not a management role.
- Interviews conducted virtually, with potential in-person final interview.
