Workshop-Based Role
A long-standing engineering company in Birmingham is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their workshop team, focusing on the strip-down, inspection, repair and rebuild of industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment. Prior gearbox experience is beneficial, but engineers with strong mechanical fitting or overhaul experience are also encouraged to apply.
This workshop-based position involves hands‑on mechanical engineering work, stripping and rebuilding a wide range of industrial gearboxes. You’ll assess component condition, diagnose wear or failure, and carry out high‑quality repairs to return equipment to operational standard.
Ideal for someone with a background as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, Workshop Engineer or anyone experienced in mechanical strip‑and‑rebuild work.
