Marketing Officer (Social Media)
Location: Brighton
Salary: £29,000-£33,000 per annum* (pro-rata depending on working weeks). *
The College seeks to appoint a Marketing Officer (Social Media) to join the Marketing team.
Main Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a passionate individual to manage our Social Media Strategy for the Senior School, from Year 7 to Sixth Form.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and implement the College's Social Media Strategy.
- Manage all social media channels, ensuring growth and engagement.
- Produce engaging content using images, videos, and graphic design tools.
- Communicate key marketing messages effectively.
- Execute paid social media campaigns and analyze their success.
- Stay updated on social media trends and recommend strategies.
- Capture photos and videos at school events and daily activities, ensuring proper storage.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to share content via newsletters, website, and magazines.
- Encourage staff to create and share content.
- Monitor comments, likes, and shares.
- Report on social media performance over time.
- Attend school events to showcase school life.
- Update website news regularly.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
Person Specifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience managing social media accounts, with a passion for educational social media.
- Build rapport with children of all ages.
- Be enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to go the extra mile.
- Understand social media analytics and reporting.
- Write succinctly and effectively.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Possess excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Be flexible to support the Group Marketing Director.
- Be a skilled photographer and video editor.
- Adapt writing style to match the school's tone of voice.
- Be highly organized, managing multiple campaigns and projects.
- React quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Have strong IT skills, with graphic design experience preferred.
- Understanding crisis management on social media is desirable.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch, totaling 37.5 hours/week. Occasional outside hours may be required for events, with time in lieu provided. Term-time (35 weeks) appointments are also considered.
Remuneration
Salary: £29,000-£33,000 per annum, pro-rata depending on agreed working weeks.
Holidays
23 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
