A leading UK insurance business is seeking an experienced UK Commercial Claims Operations Manager to drive operational excellence in their claims function. A leading UK insurance business is seeking a UK Commercial Claims Operations Manager to drive operational excellence and elevate its commercial claims function. This is a senior role reporting to the leadership team, overseeing delegated authorities, MI / reporting, workflow management, and continuous improvement across the UK commercial claims organisation.
You’ll lead a centralised, multi-disciplinary claims operations team and be a key partner to underwriting, brokers, and other business functions, ensuring outstanding service delivery and operational performance in a commercial insurance environment.
- Lead and develop a high-performing commercial claims operations team
- Oversee claims administration, workflow management, and SLA adherence across commercial lines
- Drive operational performance, governance, process improvement, and resource planning
- Own MI & data reporting across commercial claims (weekly / monthly dashboards, KPIs, DA performance)
- Manage delegated authority oversight, ensuring control, compliance, and quality
- Implement audit programmes and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer and broker experience
- Partner with senior leadership on firm-wide initiatives, regulatory programmes, and operational strategy
- Strong experience in commercial / general insurance claims operations
- Proven people leadership and team development capability
- Track record of driving operational change, efficiency, and process improvement
- Solid MI / data reporting skills with a metrics-driven approach
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including interaction with brokers and underwriters
