Job description

Main Purpose :

To lead a large and diverse security team across all sites within the Client’s iconic estate, from the world-class sporting venue with private members’ tennis club, to the outer sites encompassing community sports facilities and locations for Pre-Championships. The successful candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm and integrity to the role.

The Security Contract Manager is responsible for the strategic management, performance, and governance of all contracted security services at AELTC. The role ensures that security services meet the Club’s operational, safety, and reputational requirements throughout the year, with particular focus on delivering world-class security during The Championships.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities :

Contract & Supplier Management
  • Manage the AELTC contract in its entirety, ensuring delivery aligns with contractual obligations, KPIs, SLAs, and AELTC standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between AELTC and KSL.
  • Lead contract reviews, tender processes, and procurement exercises in collaboration with Directors.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with licensing, accreditation, insurance, and statutory requirements (e.g. SIA).
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of contracted security services across the Wimbledon site and other AELTC locations.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, skill mix, and deployment models are in place year-round and during peak operations.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure security provision supports event operations, member experience, and business continuity.
Performance & Quality Assurance
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics, conducting audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Address underperformance swiftly, implementing corrective action plans where required.
  • Ensure incident reporting, escalation, and post-incident reviews are completed to a high standard.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all contracted security activity complies with relevant legislation, industry best practice, and AELTC policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, crowd management planning, and emergency preparedness.
  • Contribute to Safety Advisory Group (SAG) engagement and liaison with external agencies as required.
Stakeholder & Event Management
  • Build strong working relationships with internal departments, emergency services, local authorities, and external partners.
  • Play a key role in planning and delivering security for The Championships and other major events.
  • Provide expert advice on contracted security capabilities and emerging risks.
Budget & Commercial Management
  • Manage security contract budgets, ensuring value for money and cost control.
  • Support forecasting, invoicing validation, and financial reporting.

Essential Criteria
  • Valid SIA License
  • Good understanding of compliance requirements (SIA, GDPR, Health & Safety, employment law).
  • Proven experience in security contract or supplier management within a complex, high-profile environment 5+ years.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, guarding services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing suppliers against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, time-critical environments.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in major events, sport, or large-scale venues.
  • Knowledge of crowd safety, event security planning, and emergency management.
  • Familiarity with public-sector-style procurement or formal tender processes.
  • Relevant security qualifications or professional memberships.
