Senior Direct Procurement Manager – Capex, Engineering & Manufacturing

Are you a procurement professional with a passion for operational excellence and a strategic mindset? A globally renowned pharmaceutical company is expanding its direct procurement team and is seeking a highly capable Senior Procurement Manager to drive value across high-impact spend areas including Capex, Engineering, and MRO.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex sourcing projects, influence senior stakeholders, and make a measurable impact across a global manufacturing and R&D footprint.

The Role – What You’ll Be Doing

• Strategic Category Leadership
• Design and implement sourcing strategies across direct categories, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives and long-term goals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to optimize supplier performance and ensure cost-effective procurement solutions.
• Project & Process Improvement
• Lead transformation initiatives focused on automation, supplier consolidation, and efficiency—utilizing MSAs/FSAs where applicable.
• Develop strong partnerships with key suppliers, proactively managing risk, driving innovation, and monitoring performance metrics.

? What You Bring

• Proven Direct Procurement Experience
• A solid track record of sourcing in Capex, Engineering, or MRO—ideally within a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or industrial manufacturing setting.
• Commercial Acumen
• Exceptional negotiation skills, contract knowledge, and a strategic approach to supplier and stakeholder management.
• Stakeholder Engagement Skills
• Confident working with senior leaders, able to challenge constructively and influence decisions at all levels.
• Qualifications
• MCIPS qualified (or working towards) is preferred. Degree-level education in a relevant discipline is a plus.
