Job summary
A prominent UK publisher seeks an ambitious Commissioning Editor for a one-year fixed-term contract. You will contribute innovative ideas and commission a variety of non-fiction titles for ages 7+. Candidates should possess strong editorial skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to build relationships with authors. Qualifications
- Considerable experience as an editor is required.
- Good working knowledge of Biblio and InDesign is preferable.
- Keen understanding of the children's and adult non-fiction market is essential.
Responsibilities
- Contribute new ideas to grow and develop the list.
- Commission a number of new titles across colour and text-led non-fiction.
- Support senior editors in ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.
- Forge positive working relationships with authors and agents.
- Lead complex editorial projects.
