Job description

12 month maternity leave cover.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, caring, highly motivated & experienced Therapeutic Radiographers to join our friendly & welcoming team at the OUH Radiotherapy Centre @Swindon, a satellite of the Oxford Cancer Centre.

Our purpose-built satellite unit in Swindon opened in October 2022, houses 2 Varian TrueBeam linacs with 6DoF couches and a GoSim Radiotherapy CT scanner. The satellite extends the radiotherapy service at the Oxford Cancer Centre. It features its own clinic rooms, planning suite, & MacMillan patient information area, and is located on the Great Western Hospital site.

Patients are at the heart of what we do, delivering techniques including IMRT, VMAT, DIBH, IGRT & SABR. All grades are encouraged to participate in these treatment & verification techniques.

We pride ourselves on a strong culture of learning, education, and support, offering a comprehensive induction programme. Our Practice Educator team supports professional development, and we encourage involvement in projects, audits, & research. CPD funding is available for academic modules and conferences. Our team includes 3 Radiographers in research posts and an expanding team of Consultant and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers working across various specialties.

Visits can be arranged. Please contact Joanne Watts at joanne.watts@ouh.nhs.uk or 01865 220684.

The role involves leading and managing a team of 3-4 radiographers, coordinating clinical operations of either the CT scanner or designated treatment machine, and managing a patient caseload to ensure accurate planning and treatment. The post involves rotational work through pre-treatment and treatment phases, liaising with other disciplines, supporting team development, and providing expert advice on procedures and side effects.
