A local council in the United Kingdom is seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician to conduct inspections, maintenance and repairs on their fleet of specialized vehicles. As an HGV Technician, you’ll play a key part in keeping some of the council’s biggest specialist fleet brands on the road. You will be responsible for conducting MOT preparations, inspections, maintenance, repair, and servicing of our customers’ fleets. You will inspect and maintain Authority’s fleet of vehicles, hired vehicles, plant and equipment; and undertake all mechanical and electrical repairs to DVSA and manufacturer’s standards in line with Council policies and the guide to maintaining road worthiness. You will repair and maintain the Authority’s refuse vehicles, sweepers and gritting vehicles including all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. Work to schedule of rates contract times and record all necessary documentation required in line with the Authority’s procedures.
