Assistant Tax Business Partner | Liverpool | £30,000-40,000

We are working with an exciting, international business based in Liverpool city centre to recruit an Assistant Tax Business Partner.

In this role, you will support the Tax Business Partner in dealing with the tax affairs of the firm both in the UK and internationally. Day to day, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting in annual income tax computations, including capital allowance calculations
• Managing corporation tax affairs and ensuring payment of quarterley tax payments and dividend payments
• Dealing with aspects of international entities, calculating double tax relief claims
• Maintaining detailed income tax provisions including deferred income tax provisions where appropriate
• Acting as tax agent for directors, preparing and submitting tax returns and liaising with HMRC
• Calculation and payment of composite income tax payments
• Calculation of current accounts and distribution of annual statement
• Assisting the HR team with recruitment by providing drawings illustrations and capital calculations
• Adivising on directors who are leaving or retiring from the firm, preparing settlement schedules and advising re-tax implication of their departure
• Liaising with payroll and HR on employment tax issues
• Providing future tax payment forecasts to assist with cashflow
• Advising on ad hoc queries such as director/employee mobility
• Maintaining and updating the tax risk register
• Keeping up to date with upcoming changes in tax legislation
• Maintaining relationships with external advisers

We are looking for someone who has:

• Excellent knowledge of partnership and personal tax issues
• Strong Excel knowledge
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, liaising directly with senior people, directors, colleagues and HMRC
• Willingness to continue learning and increasing knowledge of taxation
• Experience using tax software would be desirable
• Full or part qualification of ATT or CTA is advantageous
