About the Role

We are seeking a Build Technician with a strong mechanical background to join a growing engineering team in London. This is a hands-on role, working on innovative projects at the cutting edge of transport and mobility technology.

The position will involve the build and assembly of both prototype and production vehicles, ensuring high-quality standards are achieved while also supporting the development of new processes and workshop practices. The ideal candidate will have experience from motorsport, automotive, EV, aerospace, or a similar industry, and will thrive in a fast-paced, practical environment.

As the team expands, there will be opportunities to support the onboarding of new technicians and take a lead role in certain areas of production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit prototype and production vehicles, as well as test and development assets.
  • Carry out quality checks, end-of-line inspections, and rectifications as required.
  • Support continuous improvement activities such as fault management and process development.
  • Update production dashboards with live status of jobs against schedule.
  • Assist with production line setup, tooling introduction, and workshop improvements.
  • Provide updates in daily status meetings on build progress and technical issues.
  • Support onboarding and training of new technicians as the team grows.
What We’re Looking For
  • Mechanical bias with strong hands-on technical skills.
  • Background in automotive, motorsport, EV, aerospace, or related sectors.
  • Skilled in prototype, bespoke, or development builds.
  • Ability to interpret engineering/manufacturing drawings, including CAD models.
  • Familiarity with MES and/or fault management systems.
  • Organised, methodical, and quality-focused.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Safety-conscious with adherence to company policies and standards.
Ideals
  • Experience with electrical or electronics assembly.
  • Fabrication skills (sheet metal, welding, machining).
  • Workshop management or controller experience.
Offer
  • Salary £30,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.
  • On-site role in London (NW10), 5 days per week.
  • Flexible working hours - 9:00am–6:00pm schedule.
