Email Designer

Expedia Group’s Global Marketing Communications team is dedicated to developing effective global marketing across our brands. Within this organization, the Brand Marketing team is Expedia Group’s centre of creative excellence. responsible for developing high-impact and culturally relevant creative for consumer content.

We are looking for an experienced Email Designer to join our studio team. In this role, you will work in a truly customer-focused organization and bring creativity, critical-thinking and attention to detail to our email communications across Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo.

Experience and Qualifications

• Email Design Expertise:
  • A strong understanding of brand identity and how to maintain it across email communications. Portfolio should demonstrate this proficiency in applying global Brand Design Systems/Brand Identities across Email output.
  • Proven track record of designing and developing successful email campaigns.
  • Experience creating email templates and style guides.
  • Experience with developing and editing high-volumes of module and email assets.
  • Deep understanding and experienced in executing against email design best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and deliverability.
  • Must have UX email experience, including experience in building/editing a components and modules library.
  • Experience A/B testing email designs, interpreting the data to optimize performance.
  • Knowledge of email marketing regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software;
  • Figma (required)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (required)
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo) and HTML/CSS. preferred but not essential.

• CRM Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and their integration with email marketing platforms preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of customer segmentation and lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience using data to personalize email content and improve campaign effectiveness. Knowledge of dynamic content and personalization techniques.
  • Knowledge of web design principles and technologies.

• Creative and Strategic Thinking:
  • Ability to translate marketing objectives into engaging email designs that drive conversions.
  • Strong conceptual skills and a passion for creating visually appealing and effective email campaigns.
  • Experience developing email strategies that align with overall marketing goals.

• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience presenting email designs to stakeholders, in a confident and articulate manner.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Highly-organized. Can work flexibly and fluidly, build trust with others, see the big picture while keeping an eye on every detail, and not be fazed by working in a high pressure environment
• Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Design, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience in Email Design
