M&E Coordinator / M&E Manager / Building Services Manager
*Previous Main Contractor, Sub Contractor, or Consultancy experience all considered.*

Role:
As part of a growing M&E team, you will split your time across visiting 2-3 sites in the Midlands, primarily focusing on live works. Initial projects are located in Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire.

My client is an international building main contractor with a strong order book of Midlands projects across various sectors.
This company is renowned for working on a variety of projects, especially prestigious and bespoke multi-million-pound developments.
They are looking to recruit a permanent M&E Manager or Senior M&E Manager to work on general build sector projects.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to transfer their M&E experience into a main contractor environment, for example from a Subcontractor or Engineering Consultancy, or an already experienced main contractor M&E Coordinator / Manager.
Requirements:
To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Knowledge of the Building Sector.
- Previous employment as an M&E Coordinator, Building Services Coordinator, M&E Manager, Building Services Manager, Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer, Project Engineer, M&E Supervisor, or M&E Project Manager.
- Experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Leisure, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartments, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education, or Healthcare.
- Main Contractor experience is preferred but not essential; backgrounds in Engineering Consultancy or M&E Subcontracting will also be considered.
- Good communication skills.
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC, etc.).
Responsibilities include coordinating and controlling specialist engineering installations, ensuring work is completed according to specifications and schedules.
Key Accountabilities:
- Adhere to the company's H&S policy.
- Monitor, coordinate, and control M&E design information for timely construction.
- Ensure M&E designers identify hazards and assess risks.
- Review M&E design information at tender stage and conduct design gap analysis.
- Obtain all necessary approvals.
- Assist in developing and reviewing design development programmes.
- Support in selecting and appointing M&E designers and subcontractors.
- Review and approve M&E information before issue for construction.
- Ensure designs are economical and within budget.
- Validate M&E designs upon project completion.
- Keep records of costs and installation activities.
- Conduct cost checks and report deviations.
- Carry out risk assessments.
- Assist in producing O & M manuals.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with safety standards.
- Promote off-site manufacturing.
- Monitor, report, and improve production controls.
