Job description

Our client based in West Belfast are currently looking for a Food Service Nightshift Manager to join their busy team.

Position: Food Service Night Shift Manager

Location: Belfast - West

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Hours of Work: Sunday to Thursday (10.00pm to 6.30am) and alternate Fridays (10.00pm to 6.30am).

Some flexibility during busy periods may be required.

Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Oversee the performance of 3 teams of Assemblers, ensuring that all customer orders are picked and assembled correctly and in a timely manner
  • Creating a proactive environment with productive work flow
  • Assign and adapt duties and tasks to meet strict deadlines
  • Motivate, inspire and manage teams of Assemblers to work effectively under pressure
  • Ensure that staff keep their workplace clean and tidy
  • Oversee that produce is packed correctly, is quality checked and loaded on vehicles in the correct manner
  • Ensure that the teams of Assemblers adhere strictly to food hygiene standards and regulations
  • Build a culture which encourages a reduction of food waste
  • Ensure that each shift is properly manned
  • Be responsible for ensuring that all team members are properly trained
  • Ensure that all health and safety and quality standards are achieved

Essential Criteria

  • Have had 3 years previous management experience in an operational role within a warehousing environment
  • Have a proven ability to prioritise own work and the work of others
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Have a professional and responsible customer focused attitude
  • Be able to work overtime when required
  • Be a strong communicator both orally and in writing
  • Possess strong analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Have a proven ability of managing employees in a similar environment

Desirable Criteria:

  • Have a good knowledge of fresh produce
  • Have experience of working in an FMCG environment
  • Have experience of using electric pallet trucks and forklift trucks
  • Have IT literacy skills including MS Excel and Outlook
