Clark Wood, specialists in accountancy practice recruitment, are partnering with a prestigious firm of chartered accountants in Sheffield as they are seeking a personable and professional Accounts Manager to join their dynamic team.

As an Accounts Manager, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and some international clients. Acting as the main point of contact, you will ensure that all work for these clients is completed accurately and efficiently. Your role will focus on reviewing statutory accounts and tax compliance while collaborating with senior managers and partners to deliver business advisory services.

Beyond client management, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing junior staff, providing support as needed, and reviewing their work to maintain high standards.

The ideal candidate for the position will be ACCA or ACA qualified with extensive general practice experience. Excellent communication skills are crucial for building and maintaining successful client relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing a client portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of accounts, corporate tax & VAT returns, and ad-hoc reports
Engaging directly with clients to understand their needs and identifying areas for detailed advice
Spotting opportunities for additional services and liaising with subject matter experts
Handling HMRC enquiries
Reviewing work prepared by accounts associates and trainees
Providing training and development for junior team members
Managing billing decisions for your client portfolio
