As a part of the BASF Global Digital Trainee Program, you will receive full support from day one to make meaningful contributions to our team. We will pair you with our best mentors and coaches, ensuring your professional growth and development.

Additionally, as part of the program, you will have the chance to participate in an all-expense paid international stint in Germany, which will further enhance your network and intercultural skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

• A comprehensive 18-month program based in the Digital Hub Madrid. This includes a 6-month internship period to learn and a 12-month training contract to kick-start your career.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of unit-specific and cross-unit tasks.
• Four rotations, each approximately five months long, in at least three different teams to give you exposure to different parts of digitalization.
• An all-expense paid rotation in Germany, helping you to expand your network and further develop your intercultural skills.
• As a Trainee in our team, you will collaborate on global solutions to integrate process data from the field level to the cloud. Your role will involve actively participating in developing the solution landscape based on production needs. You will work on requirements analysis, solution specification, implementation, system and integration testing, and commissioning.
• Your main focus will be on developing a sustainable, scalable, and flexible infrastructure for data integration. This includes designing and implementing data integration solutions using in-house software and external products, working with complex system landscapes.
• Throughout your traineeship, you will also support software development practices, actively participate in market observation and technology scouting for data integration, software engineering, design patterns, Big Data stream processing, and IoT.
• You will collaborate with team members to develop and consult on OT-related applications based on cloud technologies for the entire BASF group. This involves supporting modernization, development, and deployment of these applications, aligning customer requirements with technical solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for committed interns / trainees who want to gain knowledge and develop professional skills. We value candidates who set challenging goals for themselves, and approach opportunities with an open mind. We are looking for someone that:

• is finishing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). However, other disciplines are also welcomed.
• shows interest in programming and an active involvement in extra-curricular activities of any kind.
• has good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• brings a positive learning spirit and a growth mindset.

Nice to have knowledge (but not necessary):

• Experience in any programming language (Java, Python, Powershell, C#)
