Would you like to do one of the most interesting and fast-developing forms of journalism for a highly regarded international news agency in one of the best cities in the world?

Reuters is looking for someone to join its leading-edge Visual Verification Team .

You will be based in the new Barcelona newsroom and collaborate with colleagues across all disciplines to tell stories in many ways.

Using the latest open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools and techniques, you will verify breaking news content, analyze visuals from conflict zones, and contribute to special reports, insights, and investigations.

Through your ability to search, verify, and clear permissions for content, your work will impact millions of people through the broadcasters, digital, and text clients Reuters has worldwide.

This is a full-time role that demands flexibility to work long hours and some weekends.

About the Role :

As our Visual Verification & Newsgathering Producer , you will :

• Scan the internet for visuals of breaking news, conflicts, and trends to identify original sources and uploads quickly.
• Use your interpersonal skills to contact sources, ask questions, and obtain clearance for Reuters to distribute their content.
• Employ OSINT techniques and tools such as satellite imagery, file metadata, weather data, and other evidence to analyze videos and photographs to determine if they are old, misleading, tampered with, or AI-generated.
• Follow the biggest international stories of the day closely.
• Track trends and pitch human-led stories.
• Collaborate with colleagues on special reports and investigations.

About You :

• Good at finding untold stories beyond the headlines.
• Ambitious to find and cover impactful stories.
• Following the latest developments in digital industry, including AI.
• Capable of working well both in a team and independently.
• Proficient in speaking and writing English.

Prior experience in social media newsgathering, verification, OSINT work, or fact-checking is advantageous, but full training will be provided. A willingness to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and work under pressure is essential.
