We are excited to partner with a renowned mobile game studio based in Berlin, currently seeking a talented and experienced 2D Animator to join their dynamic team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in crafting visually stunning and captivating animations that bring life to a variety of mobile and casual social games enjoyed by millions.

What you will be doing:

• Create and deliver high-quality animations that enhance gameplay, ensuring they are smooth, visually striking, and align with the game's style.
• Spearhead character and asset animations directly in Unity, using the Animator and Timeline to bring ideas to life.
• Ensure animation quality across all projects, reviewing work and making necessary improvements to elevate the visual experience.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand player behaviours, adjusting animations to fit player feedback and preferences.
• Manage the animation pipeline, ensuring seamless integration of animations into the game while meeting both technical and creative goals.
• Mentor and support fellow artists, offering guidance, feedback, and helping them grow professionally.
• Develop, document, and refine animation standards, establishing consistent guidelines to maintain a cohesive style throughout future projects.

Who you are:

• Over 5 years of professional experience in 2D animation, specializing in character and asset animations for video games.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in animating characters, objects, effects, and environments.
• Extensive experience animating in Unity, utilizing tools such as the Animator and Timeline.
• Deep understanding of core 2D animation principles, including timing, spacing, squash-and-stretch, and anticipation, with expert skills in rigging, bones, and mesh animation.
• Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and the full Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with other game engines, including Unreal Engine and Godot, with the ability to adapt animation assets for various platforms.
• Proven track record in project leadership, mentoring junior team members, and driving creative initiatives.
• Bonus: Experience in UI design, from creating layouts in Photoshop to implementing them within Unity.
