Job Description:

At Quantum Systems, we are redefining the boundaries of autonomous drone technology by leveraging advanced simulations for development, testing and training purposes. We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Software Engineer to develop realistic, visually compelling simulation environments for simulation-in-the-loop testing and operator training for next-generation drone systems.

As a Simulation Software Engineer, you hold a significant key position within our Simulation Team. Your task is to develop and implement solutions which tightly integrate the simulation environment with the real-life products and with end users. With our world-class team, you will play a central role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

1. Design and develop simulator software and simulation environments for drone operations and mission scenarios
2. Focus on the visual representation of simulation environments, ensuring accuracy and realism in dynamic 3D environments
3. Implement and maintain simulation frameworks that support simulator control and simulation-in-the-loop (SITL) testing
4. Integrate geospatial visualization tools (e.g. Cesium) in 3D engines (e.g. Unreal) for operational and environmental accuracy
5. Collaborate closely with control systems, AI, embedded and navigation teams to support hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and SITL environments for development and testing
6. Optimize performance for real-time rendering and simulation scalability
7. Troubleshoot and enhance existing simulation pipelines to meet evolving project requirements

What you bring to the team:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields
2. 3+ years of experience in simulation or game development and visualization for vehicles, robotics, or drones
3. Proven experience in creating visually compelling environments for simulation applications
4. Strong proficiency in modern C++ for high-performance simulation development
5. Experience working with CMake for build management, along with proficiency in Google Test and Google Mock frameworks for unit testing and test automation
6. Familiarity with simulation-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environments
7. Solid understanding of geospatial visualization and data integration tools (e.g., Cesium, Unreal, Unity)
