Job Title: Professor in Scientific Computing

Institution: University of Cologne & Forschungszentrum Jülich

The University of Cologne, one of the oldest and largest universities in Germany, with six faculties and a strong research profile, is seeking a distinguished scientist in the field of scalable scientific computing.

Your Tasks:

1. Conduct research in simulation science and deep learning methods for physical and engineering problems.
2. Develop scalable simulation software and deep learning algorithms for high-performance computing systems.
3. Contribute to teaching in Scientific Computing within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary research groups, including the Cluster of Excellence “Our Dynamic Universe” and the Centre for Data and Simulation Science.

Your Profile:

1. Extensive experience in scientific computing and high-performance computing, including supervision of students and research staff.
2. Proven success in managing international research projects and acquiring third-party funding.
3. Strong network in HPC and application domains, with experience in technology transfer and industry collaboration.
4. Experience in applying for scientific computing time on various architectures.
