Job Summary:

The Registered Staff Pharmacist is required to dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals and compounds and provide consultative services to both clients and health care providers in accordance with all laws and responsibilities set by the Provincial Regulatory Body and McKesson Canada. The Senior Manager, Pharmacy or Pharmacist Supervisor role is a successor role for the Pharmacists.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Filling, verifying, and dispensing medications accurately.
2. Provide supervision and oversight for pharmacy caseworkers, assistants, technicians, and other staff.
3. Provide appropriate pharmacist services, including patient counseling and follow-up for dispensed prescriptions as required.
4. Ensure prescription pricing is accurate and payment methods have been established.
5. Ensure prescriptions are delivered to the appropriate site as per patient request, regulation and cold chain required.
6. Providing general customer service for clients and stakeholders (i.e., Patients, Health Care Professionals, Industry Partners, etc.)
7. Adapting, renewing, and initiating prescriptions as per the Provincial College’s rules and regulations working to full scope of practice as outlined by regulatory body.
8. Provide medical information as required to patients and other healthcare professionals.
9. Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements.
10. Submitting Adverse Events (AE) and Product Quality Complaints (PQC)
11. Flexibility in working overlapping shifts during operating pharmacy hours.
12. Oversees staff to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing pharmacy.
13. Operate and promote behaviors that uphold McKesson i2Care and iLead Principles in alignment with McKesson Code of Conduct.
14. Ensure company policies and regulatory standards are at the foremost of all activities and decisions.
15. Adhere to privacy requirements.
16. Monitor accounts receivable.
17. Temperature monitoring.
18. Complete all required training.
19. Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

Knowledge:

1. Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
2. A valid license in good standing with the applicable College of Pharmacists.
3. Professional Liability Insurance.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Working knowledge of retail pharmacy practice.
2. Understanding of biologics and specialty medications.
3. This position requires a significant degree of self-direction and independence.
4. Possess strong working knowledge of Kroll and its capabilities.
5. Clinical expertise in major therapeutic areas required by Specialty Pharmacy Services.
6. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
7. Accountable and results-oriented.
8. MS office.

Experiences:

1. Full-time employment for at least one year in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
2. Bilingualism (English/French) an asset or Multilingual.
3. Additional experience in clinical trials, medication reimbursement, or a regulatory environment is useful.

Supervision and Communication:

1. Communication: PSP, Navigation, INVIVA clinics, Medical Clinics, Pharmacy, Patients and drug plans.
2. Direct Reports: N/A.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position:

$89,700 - $149,500.
