We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook for a Casual position at the North Haida Gwaii Hospital.

In alignment with Northern Health's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, and within the scope of NH Policies, the NH Regional Food Safety Plan, and the NH Regional Food Sanitation Plan, this role involves food preparation, cooking, portioning, serving, and cleaning duties. The Cook will also assign tasks to Food Service Workers.

This facility provides medical services to Old Masset, Port Clements, and surrounding areas, including:

• Emergency services
• Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging
• Pharmacy
• Chronic Disease Management
• Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy
• Mental Health and Substance Use Services
• Home and Community Care
• Visiting Specialists in various fields
• Public Health services

Masset, located along Masset Sound on Haida Gwaii, is the largest village on the island, known for logging, fishing, and tourism. It serves a population of about 1,000 residents and surrounding areas, with amenities including schools and community services.

Graduation from a recognized 12-month cooking program or equivalent experience.
