Job summary

- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle required to travel to assigned area schools.
Responsibilities
- Perform kitchen duties such as washing dishes, cleaning and organizing work areas, restocking supplies.
- Collect and remove compost, recyclables and garbage.
- Deliver cafeteria orders to neighboring schools based on the food service model.
- Maintain food safety standards at all times.
- Provide service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while adhering to program guidelines.
- Coordinate and communicate with supervisors as needed.
The Cafeteria Food Service Worker is responsible for food preparation and service for the school community within the guidelines of the School Food and Nutrition Policy. They will be committed to promoting healthy eating, food equity and local, minimally processed foods in the school cafeteria. The Cafeteria Worker will work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and reports to the Lead Cafeteria Worker, School Principal or designate. Ensure food safety standards are followed at all times.

The position is classified on the Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework at Band 1 with a starting hourly wage of $20.85.
