From $22.32 to $28.39 per hour, in addition to annual allowances such as a $2,140 Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance (CSSDA) and an Inmate Training Differential.

Food Distribution Helper (GS-FOS-02) & Cook's Helper (GS-FOS-03)

1. Food Distribution Helper: clean and maintain food preparation equipment, assist with ordering, receiving, and distributing food products, manage inventory and storeroom security, support Point of Sales (POS) systems, and maintain storage areas. Report equipment issues and adhere to security and fire safety protocols.
2. Cook's Helper: assist in meal preparation, distribution, and short-order cooking, ensure portion control and adherence to recipes. Manage procurement, inventory, and distribution of groceries while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment. Provide on-the-job safety training, train offenders in food service operations, safety protocols and hygiene practices to enhance employability.

English essential

Education: Three years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience (applies to both positions).

Experience (Cook's Helper): experience working in food services within a commercial or institutional setting, including meal preparation and short-order cooking.
