The Data Strategy & Enablement (DSE) team is on a continuous journey towards helping TELUS become a world-class leader in Artificial Intelligence products and solutions. We achieve this by delivering ML and data analytics capabilities built upon unified scalable platforms, advanced tooling, high-quality data, and fostering a product and platform-oriented culture.

Our AI Accelerator team plays a central role in harnessing the full potential of AI across the company. We act as transformation consultants to help our business unit partners create exponential value through an insight-by-design approach.

As a Senior Manager of Artificial Intelligence, you will build and lead a team of 10 AI experts dedicated to the CFO portfolio. Your team will consist primarily of AI Engineers, complemented by Data Engineers and an AI Project Manager. You will collaborate across business units to ideate, define, and champion opportunities to apply AI insights that drive improved financial decision-making and stronger business outcomes.

What you'll do

• Lead and Inspire : Drive a team of 10 AI experts, inspiring them to identify opportunities, take calculated risks, and own the results and impact of their work in the finance domain
• Strategic Implementation : Drive and communicate to senior executive leadership the development and execution of AI strategies that align with TELUS' financial objectives, ensuring transformative technologies are implemented at scale
• Finance-Focused AI Initiatives : Spearhead projects in areas such as revenue assurance, fraud detection, investment optimization, and revenue & cost forecasting to deliver quantifiable benefits to the CFO portfolio
• Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate complex technical problems and AI-driven financial insights to non-technical audiences to unlock new business needs and drive decision-making
• Change Management : Facilitate organizational change by operationalizing AI insights and managing transformations through effective change management practices in finance-related processes
• Engineering Excellence : Lead the development and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient AI solutions for financial applications

What you bring

• AI Expertise : Deep technical knowledge and 3+ years of experience in deploying business impact AI and machine learning solutions, with a focus on financial applications
• Business Development : Experience developing new business opportunities that result in game changing financial outcomes
• Team Leadership : 5+ years of experience in a role guiding and influencing people, with the ability to build and lead a team of 10 AI professionals
• Adaptability and Learning Agility : Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new requirements and technologies
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields. A finance background or Master in Business Administration is a plus
• Location : Anywhere in Canada (hybrid or fully remote work arrangement)
• Collaboration : Work with experts in Brazil and across Canada
