This position reports to:

Automation Engineering Manager

In this role, you will act as the design authority for an engineering discipline focusing on medium complexity projects with expertise in Networking & Cyber Security. You will manage assignments across several projects of moderate size or portions of larger projects, ensuring they are completed cost-effectively and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity policies.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

This role reports to the Automation Engineering Manager in Dubai. It involves collaboration with various stakeholders including Project Managers, Engineering Teams, and customers to ensure successful project delivery and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with customers to shape and deliver solutions, seeking feedback for continuous improvement.
• Develop work plans and cost estimates, ensuring timely and quality delivery within budget.
• Coordinate with relevant functions for manufacturing, staging, testing, installation, and commissioning of designs.
• Coach colleagues on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Act as a technical lead, approving design deliverables to ensure conformity, safety, and quality.
• Anticipate and resolve critical issues using advanced concepts and methods.
• Participate in project meetings, address technical issues, and meet contractual obligations.
• Assess technical risks and opportunities, reporting issues with recommendations for resolution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, contractual, and engineering standards.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience designing and implementing Operational Technology (OT) network solutions for control systems, with a focus on industrial cybersecurity in Oil & Gas and Power & Water sectors.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial networking and cybersecurity, working with control systems and OT environments.
• Proficiency in Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, VLAN/VTP/STP/RSTP/MSTP/VRRP/MRP/PRP, MLPS, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers.
• Degree in engineering or a related field, with extensive knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial automation systems.
• Fluent in English, both technical and customer-facing communication.
• Current CCNA and CCNP certifications (R&S/Security), with a solid understanding of ISA/IEC 62443 standards.
• Experience with cybersecurity solutions like McAfee ePO, ENS, Threat Prevention, Application Whitelisting, industrial firewalls (Tofino, Eagle), Cisco FTD, FortiGate, and Sophos.
• Knowledge of Active Directory Group Policy, system hardening, and backup systems like Acronis.
