City University Ajman is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and professional HR Officer to join its Human Resources team. The successful candidate will support the effective delivery of HR operations and services, ensuring compliance with University policies and UAE labor regulations. This role plays a key part in supporting employees and management across the employee lifecycle while contributing to a positive and compliant workplace environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all departments and colleges across the University.
  • Support end-to-end HR operations including onboarding, employee records, contract management, and offboarding processes.
  • Assist in recruitment and selection activities, including job postings, CV screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
  • Prepare HR documentation such as offer letters, contracts, confirmations, warnings, and other employee correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in both electronic and physical formats.
  • Coordinate with PRO and government relations for visa processing, labor cards, Emirates ID, and other employee-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law and University HR policies and procedures.
  • Support payroll inputs, leave management, attendance tracking, and employee data updates.
  • Handle employee queries professionally and provide timely HR support and guidance.
  • Assist in performance management processes and appraisal documentation.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and staff development activities.
  • Prepare HR reports and dashboards related to headcount, turnover, leave, and other HR metrics.
  • Assist in disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and employee relations matters in coordination with HR management.
  • Maintain updated HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook documentation.
  • Support audits, accreditation, and compliance documentation as required.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR efficiency and service delivery.
  • Attend meetings as required and perform other HR-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in an HR Officer or similar HR operations role.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and administrative skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, MS Office, and HR documentation processes.
  • Experience in higher education or institutional environments is an advantage.
