Job summary
A leading engineering firm based in the UAE is seeking a Process Engineer to oversee process design and optimization for water, wastewater, and environmental treatment projects. The role involves developing detailed process designs, supporting tender submissions, and providing project support on-site. Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related disciplines and possess 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in the GCC region. Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in engineering software are essential.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience for Process Engineer; 5–8 years for Process Engineer II.
- Experience in water, wastewater, or waste treatment projects in the GCC preferred.
- Proficiency in BIM is an advantage.

Lead Process Engineer / Engineering Manager
The Process Engineer / Process Engineer II is responsible for process design, optimization, and technical support for water, wastewater, industrial effluent, and environmental treatment projects across the UAE and Middle East. The role supports tendering, detailed engineering, commissioning, and operational performance improvement.
- Develop conceptual, basic, and detailed process designs for water, wastewater, and industrial treatment systems.
- Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&Ids, mass and energy balances, and design calculations.
- Perform process simulations and hydraulic calculations using relevant engineering tools.
- Size and specify process equipment including filters, membranes, reactors, clarifiers, pumps, and dosing systems.
- Support technical proposals, BOQs, cost estimates, and technical clarifications during tendering.
- Coordinate with sales, proposals, and commercial teams to ensure technically compliant solutions.
- Evaluate vendor offers and prepare technical bid evaluations.
- Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, plant start-up, performance testing, and handover activities.
- Support troubleshooting, process optimization, and performance improvement at operating plants.
- Monitor plant KPIs, analyze process data, and recommend improvements.
- Develop and update operating procedures, process manuals, and performance reports.
- Work closely with O&M teams to resolve process upsets and ensure compliance.
- Ensure designs comply with local authority requirements such as ADM, DEWA, ADDC, EPC, and other relevant standards.
- Adhere to company HSE, quality, and sustainability policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Process Engineer: 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Process Engineer II: 5–8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in water, wastewater, industrial effluent, desalination, or waste treatment projects in the GCC is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Experience with process modeling and hydraulic calculations.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ISO, ASTM, AWWA, and API as applicable.
- Proficiency in engineering software, process calculation tools, Excel, and AutoCAD; BIM experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural project teams.
- Clear communication with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to project sites within the UAE and GCC.
- Prior experience with EPC, O&M, or environmental engineering companies.
- Familiarity with Middle East authority approvals and EPC contracts.
- Experience supporting PPP, BOO, or BOT projects is an advantage.
