Director Human Resources - Investment Firm
On behalf of our client, a highly reputable family investment office based in Dubai, we are seeking a senior HR Leader to join their team.
The Director of Human Resources is a senior-level position responsible for establishing, leading, and enhancing the HR function within the family office. This role focuses on building a high-performance, cross-functional culture, supporting talent development, and designing HR systems and policies aligned with the firm’s values and business objectives. The role reports directly to the CEO and acts as a trusted advisor to leadership, serving as a bridge between the team and executive management.
About the Role
Strategic HR Leadership
- Serve as the primary HR partner to the CEO, advising on talent strategy and organizational structure.
- Lead the design and implementation of HR frameworks, policies, and systems tailored to a small, high-performing team.
- Shape a workplace culture focused on collaboration, ethics, accountability, and continuous development.
Talent Development & Performance
- Design and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each employee.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend relevant training providers and programs.
- Support the CEO in defining KPIs and detailed job descriptions for all roles.
- Promote a strong performance management culture through feedback, mentoring, and structured evaluation.
HR Systems & Compliance
- Identify and implement a reliable, scalable HR system for up to 20 employees.
- Ensure alignment with UAE Labour Law and internal governance policies.
- Oversee the consistency and integrity of employee documentation and records.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Act as a trusted link between team members and the CEO.
- Ensure inclusive engagement with both introverted and extroverted personalities.
- Support ethical awareness by delivering training on conflict of interest, insider trading, and company values.
Collaboration with Support Functions
- Work alongside the Office Manager, who handles day-to-day administrative HR tasks including onboarding, offboarding, and visa processes.
- Maintain oversight of outsourced HR operations, such as payroll, to ensure alignment with internal policies.
Qualifications
- 12-15 years of experience as a senior HR generalist in a leading investment firm.
- Progressive HR experience, including senior leadership roles in small to mid-sized companies.
- Prior experience in asset management, private equity, investment firms, or family offices is preferred.
Required Skills
- Expertise in employee retention and development strategies.
- Track record in full implementation of new HR systems.
- Exposure to financial services or investment environments is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience working in an international environment.
- Leadership experience in smaller setups, leading HR departments (reporting to senior management or standalone roles).
